The Macworld Experience -- Final Day
By WilliamLH

August 9, 1997 Boston, MA. - Well folks, today is the last day of MacWorld Expo, Boston 1997 and I'm completely spent, I'll need a vacation from my vacation! ;-> There are several conferences and tutorials left and some final contact making to do so let me sum up MacWorld 1997 in a few words:

Busy, the flow after Steve Jobs keynote speech was frenzied and opinions were not short.

Fun, I had a great time learning and connecting with fellow Mac users and almost all were Evangelists that would rather die than give up their Macintoshes.

Business, I made many great contacts and a few new friends, a special hello to Ron Hackathorn of "RESOURCE" in Columbus, Ohio and to the guys of the Flint Apple Club, there is a beer in the fridge for all of you. ;-> and a special thanks to Ms. Diane Hayward of Apple PR who said she will look into the 5xxx-6xxx dilemma(See Apple's Big Mistake in this issue.) and of course thank you to all of the software manufacturers who will be sending their products for us to review and relay to you our faithful readers.

Surprises, Steve Jobs announcement of the new board of directors and the big bomb, Microsoft's new found partnership with Apple. There is something I need to mention here that I believe I left out when I reported the announcement...Apple and Microsoft have settled several patent disputes, in a satisfactory manner to both parties, out of court, something that is unusual in the technology business.

Macintosh, Macintosh, Macintosh, Macintosh... That is what MacWorld Expo is all about, Macintosh and its hordes of followers. Until next month's reviews, keep on Macin' and buy Mac OS 8.
